The Iceland Symphony Orchestra invites applications for two Tutti Violin positions in the first violin section. An audition will take place on 2 June 2026 at Harpa Concert Hall, Reykjavík. Application deadline: 30 April 2026 A formal application form is not required. Applications should be submitted by email and must include a CV and copies of diplomas. Please send materials to the Human Resources Director at starf@sinfonia.is. Audition Repertoire: Solo works (two pieces): - I. One of the following, 1st and 2nd movements with cadenza: W.A. Mozart Violin Concerto no. 3, no. 4, or no. 5. - II. One of the following violin concertos, 1st movement with cadenza: Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, Beethoven, or Dvorak. Orchestral excerpts (see attached) About the Positions These vacancies are for two full-time Tutti Violin positions. The first violin section comprises 16.5 full-time equivalent positions.Applicants must hold a university-level qualification in instrumental performance. Salary and terms are in accordance with the collective agreement between the Iceland Symphony Orchestra Employees' Association and the Ministry of Finance. Applicants from outside the EEA must obtain a work permit, subject to approval by the Icelandic Musicians' Union (FÍH) and the Directorate of Immigration. The Iceland Symphony Orchestra is the resident orchestra in Reykjavík's award-winning Harpa Concert Hall.
